“In this arena, ignorance is not bliss!! Unfortunately there is more ignorance in this world than enlightenment. Parents know to pass on to their children what was passed on to them and to do more takes a lifetime to learn which is usually passed the time when their children need to be educated, and so it goes on and on, one generation after another. Good that God can restore and make something beautiful of all the broken pieces. Do I regret? Hmmm. I don’t think so. Life surely could have been a lot better but I’m not sure I’d be any better for it than I am now. For the pain to others, that I regret. But the pain to me has made me what I am.”

I once had the honor of speaking on your show as a donor family with Texas Organ Sharing Alliance. For the last 8 years, I have shared our son Daniel’s story of being a successful organ donor with any audience TOSA or related groups will identify, including our own church. The best parts have come in recent years when I’ve become comfortable, with God’s help, to share the spiritual side of the experience: from God granting me 30″ of sleep in the hospital so I could deal with the next steps, to understanding that the prayer for Daniel to heal “cell by cell” meant that Daniel’s pancreas would go to a research study and, finally, to a wonderful sign from the Holy Ghost in a Little League memorial that Daniel is safe with God and alive in Heaven. These are the parts of the story that get people’s attention for all of us hunger to believe that there is life after death and we will be with our loved ones again. Thank you for putting me on your email list. I have shared your articles with others for they give such common sense, faith-based ideas. Blessings to you and your work.

Dr. Carol…,
You know I am a fan of yours and love your articles….thank you for all your advise and recipes! I have always been interested in supplements/vitamins. But realize many just can’t live up to their claims. But, I have found one that I truly have found to make a difference in the way that I have been feeling…in that, it builds your immune system I have been taking Colostrum and for almost 3 years since I started taking it, I have not been sick . I used to catch everything that came along, colds, flus, etc. But, I have had nothing at all. It is amazing!
Anyway, wanted you to know and keep up the good work!

The spiritual was the missing piece for me. I had lost 100 pounds then gained back 45. Then I was convicted by a verse in the Bible talking about people whose “bellies are their gods.” I realized that is me and I want my Lord to be number one in my life, not my belly. I have been fasting this 40 days of Lent and God is teaching me about eating to live and not living to eat. I really see what I was doing for the sin that it is. I know we are all different, but this is the missing piece for me. I am getting healthier and healthier, thanks to Jesus.

Great post! The analogies between marriage counselling and the government is great and MAKES SENSE. There are some serious things to look at here and we need to start working together all around whether in marriage or government. Thanks for the uplifting article.
